Incoloy 926 (UNS N08926) is a super austenitic stainless steel. It contains high levels of chromium, nickel, and 6% molybdenum, enhanced by nitrogen addition. This alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance in various aggressive environments, especially those with chlorides or other halides. It resists pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. High nickel and chromium content ensure resistance across a wide range of corrosive media, while molybdenum and nitrogen boost resistance in halide - containing and reducing environments. Copper in it further improves resistance to sulfuric acid. Incoloy 926 also has good mechanical properties, with higher strength than typical austenitic stainless steels like AISI 316L.
